THANK YOU for supporting Espwa Ministries in 2019! Remember, ‘Espwa’ is the Haitian word for ‘hope’ and our mission, through everything we do, is to share the true hope that is found in Jesus. Through your giving, Espwa continues to provide hope, in tangible ways via our partners in Haiti. Espwa continues to primarily support three organizations in Haiti; El Shaddai Central Ministries (Marie Prinvil), Future Generations International Missions (FGIM) & Faith House orphanage, (Pierre and Lorphine St Louis), and Mercy Land Ministries (Ebenson Verdule). This year proved to be very challenging for our Haitian friends as political unrest grew to levels not seen for many, many years in the country due to rising fuel prices in Haiti. This also had a ripple effect by increasing the overall cost of living, causing food shortages. This has led to protest and violence that made life even more difficult for those we partner with and serve in Haiti. This is the first year since 2002 none of our Espwa team had their feet on the ground in Haiti. Due to the continual political unrest and other various reasons, all of our missionary partners found their way back to the US, and Fruit Cove, Fl. in October to visit. This was the first time we have had all three of our ministry partners in town at the same time. It was a great time of fellowship, prayer and hearing directly from each of them about their current work, both successes and needs, but more importantly how the drastic decline in living conditions has not diminished their hope and desire to press on with the work of God in each of their respective communities. Espwa continues to support the community of El Shaddai with scholarships for school tuition and school supplies, community food distributions, and supporting El Shaddai’s church plant in Jeremie on the western coast peninsula of Haiti.  At FGIM we continue support of their church, the Faith House orphanage and a project to build new living quarters to move the girls from a leased property, to their own building, on their own property which has already been purchased. In Mercy Land, we continue to support the church plant and school, and are working to secure clean water via drilling a well, building cisterns to store water, securing water filtration systems to provide clean water for both the ministry and local community. As Mercy Land is a younger ministry we are in need of materials and supplies for several building projects, agriculture supplies and irrigation pumps/pipes, solar power equipment to provide electricity in conjunction with the aging generator, to mention a few. Your giving is making this possible. Hope comes in all different forms and we are thankful to have given hope this year through education, food-nutrition programs, clean water projects, and church plant support. Due to the decline in the already difficult conditions this year we provided more widespread assistance than ever before in the communities we work in to assist the people in these communities with basic needs of life to help them survive these extremely difficult times.

We closed out the year in a new and different way by doing a Live Event on Facebook so everyone could meet our ministry partners and hear from them firsthand, which was broadcasted ‘live’.  This was a meet and greet event. A time to tell stories, share and get to know us better. This was also our year end event to raise funds for 2020. Please consider supporting our ministry in 2020 by going to our web site at Espwaministries.org to donate or see the ‘contact’ tab for the address to mail your check. You can still view our live event which was recorded on Facebook;
