Greetings from Espwa Ministries!

As the year is closing out we wanted to provide you with an update on some of the highlights of 2018. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

2018 has gone by very fast, so fast in fact we decided to give everyone a holiday treat early! Stay home and relax this fall. We have decided to move our fall fundraiser event to the spring. Be on the lookout for more details coming soon.

In addition, we are again honored to be the beneficiary of the 3rd Annual North Florida EggFest. This is a Green Egg cook off event on March 9, 2019 at Trout Creek Community Center hosted by James Simmons and Pinch-a-Penny.  Please mark your calendars. This is a fantastic event featuring cook teams from all over the south. Your part is to purchase a $25 ticket and enjoy all the delicious food (savory and sweet). Visit www.northfloridaeggfest.com to learn more and pre-register.

We were blessed by your contributions during last year’s holiday fundraiser. We know there are many needs in this world and places you can give. We are so honored you have chosen to support us, and those that so desperately need help and love. Below are some of the 2018 blessings and answered prayers:

  • 2018-19 tuition, supplies, meals for 24 elementary age children to attend school in 2018-19 at El Shaddai (Marie Prinvil)
  • College tuition assistance for a student attending school in the US, on a VISA
  • Tuition, books and supplies for 3 elementary students in Jacmel
  • Assistance with purchase of a vehicle for FGIM/Faith House (Pierre and Lorphine St.Louis)
  • Clean water system at Mercy Land Orphanage (Ebenson Verdule) in Port de Paix (We still have funds reserved for a deep water well. The cost is high and we are researching the best options on how and where to drill, to make sure we secure a sustainable water source for the ministry and community)
  • Generator to support water system and living quarters at Mercy Land Orphanage
  • Financial support for twelve foster families serving and supporting El Shaddai ministry
  • Community hot meals
  • Community food distributions
  • Financial support for bibles, supplies, building materials for El Shaddai church plant in Jeremie (area devastated by hurricane Matthew 2 years ago)
  • Bibles for the new church plant in Port de Paix, The Rock of Salvation Baptist Church
  • We have been able to support Ebenson Verdule and his family this year as they moved to Haiti. Ebenson spoke at our low country seafood cookout last Fall. Many of you got a chance to meet him and his wife Kathy. Their story is truly remarkable. Their area, Port de Paix, is where the last earthquake hit Haiti in October, damaging some of their newly built structures at Mercy Land. Many people moved out of the city because of all the damage from the earth quake and are now in the villages closer to Mercy Land, creating new opportunities. God works in mysterious ways.  Please visit https://youtu.be/bf8lHvTruhs to learn more about their story and ministry.

None of these needs could have been met without your generous donations and loving spirit for the less fortunate. During our trips to Haiti we are blessed to see firsthand how you are making a difference for the orphans, the local communities and children at risk by providing hope for a brighter future. God is working through all of us together, in Desources and Jacmel. We hope to visit Mercy Land in 2019.

If you want to join in with us please go to our web site to give a year end donation, www.espwaministries.org or via check send to Espwa Ministries Inc. at P.O. Box 600053, St Johns, FL 32260. We are in a season of wonder and amazement of the miracle of Christmas and celebrating the birth of Jesus. We too are believing in the wonder God and anticipating great things in 2019.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the spring at the North FL Eggfest and our Espwa Spring event.

Thank you & God bless you (Mèsi e Bondye beni ou),

The Board of Espwa Ministries, Inc. (Kory Burnett, Christi Paul, Cheri Burnett, Cathy Lentz, Sherry Simmons, James Farris, Ken Burnett)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may overflow in hope. Romans 15:13
